Black Equestrian

My passion for horses and the classical principles of riding has been a driving force throughout my life and career as an equine instructor and trainer. I have extensive knowledge of horse care and experience training horses in numerous capacities including working on various sport horse and race-horse breeding farms.

My own riding experience began at the young age of eight when I started taking riding lessons at Shalom Farms in Newmarket, Ontario under the direction of Leslie Wagashal. It was during this time that I was introduced to the principles of Classical Dressage. Since this young age, I have sought to ride all horses with balance, suppleness and harmony.

I have also had the opportunities to ride and clinic with some of the best trainers Canada has to offer, such as Walter Zettl, Eddo Hoekstra, and Jean-Paul Pare. It has been with the guidance of these trainers and independently that I have developed my skills by riding a variety of horses, from schooling lesson horses to starting young horses, and to my own horse, Royal Lew. I have carefully brought Lew along from a young OTTB to a solid sport horse, qualifying for Silver Level Championships on several occasions.

I have continuously worked as a freelance instructor and trainer where I get the opportunity to work with riders and horses schooling at all different levels. My primary focus is working with young and talented horses with emphasis on Classical Dressage training, as I believe that Dressage is the foundation for every riding discipline.
