In 1986, Bill MacWilliam and Dave Paterson had a vision to create a truly great private, 18-hole golf course in the Toronto area. They dreamed of creating a club that was built for its members, with no outside tournaments, no tee times, no financial surprises and a club that is strictly focused on the player’s enjoyment. A true equity club that cares deeply about ensuring that there is unprecedented value in the annual fees paid by its members, and above all a top-class golf facility.

The industry said it couldn’t be done. 35 years later, the founders have done everything they set out to do and more. St. Andrew’s East stands on more than a quarter century of living up to its promises. The commitment of a core group of management that have been with St. Andrew’s East for over 100 years combined is testament to the success of the club.
