Whitchurch-Stouffville Toastmasters

Welcome to Whitchurch-Stouffville Toastmasters. If you are looking to improve your public speaking and leadership skills, Whitchurch-Stouffville Toastmasters can help.

We are a non-profit organization founded by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley in 1924. Since then, Toastmasters International has helped over 5 million people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders.

There are a variety of reasons People join Toastmasters. Some join to overcome their fear of public speaking, some to augment their leadership skills. My reason for joining Toastmasters was to improve how I created and delivered impactful messages. In 2014 I walked into my first Toastmasters meeting and realized how supportive Toastmasters are. I can honestly say through the Toastmasters curriculum, and with the help of my mentor(s), and my fellow club members, I succeeded, not only in my club but also at work and in my community.

We are not alone on our Toastmasters journey, Toastmasters International has over 364,000 active members: in more than 16,200 clubs and in 145 countries. Toastmasters’ clubs meet on a regular basis where you are encouraged within a positive learning environment. You give speeches and get immediate feedback. You learn how to formulate, express, and sell your ideas and yourself with poise and confidence. Not only will you learn to speak well, but because Whitchurch-Stouffville Toastmasters is a mutually supportive club, you will improve your ability to listen and evaluate others’ presentations, while developing your leadership skills.

Our weekly virtual meetings are open to guests: Monday evenings 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. EST. Please register if you would like to attend and we will send you the link to the meeting.
